Edgewater

Located about two miles south of New Smyrna Beach, Hawks Park as it was originally named, was established by Dr. J.M. Hawks.

Dr. Hawks purchased the Spanish Land Grant in 1865. The community was established in 1871 and re-named Edgewater in 1925.

Nestled alongside the Indian River, Edgewater is an Intracoastal waterfront village with small town Florida charm.

Today, Edgewater encompasses 7,040 acres with just over 17,000 residents, still a small town by most standards. Known for its oyster and crab fishing industries, it is home to many award-winning businesses and companies that are leaders in their field.
